Los esports no son solo competición pura y dura. También hay muchas cosas alrededor que los hacen posibles, que los hacen crecer día a día, evento tras evento. Hablamos, lógicamente, de periodistas, fotógrafos, videógrafos, presentadores... y todo lo que gira alrededor de la industria.
Además de a los jugadores y juegos más destacados del año, los Esports Industry Awards se encargan de premiar, con un plantel de expertos, cada una de las posiciones que hacen los esports posibles y cada vez más profesionales.
Counter Strike se llevó el premio a mejor juego del año, PUBG fue la novedad más destacada, y Sjokz la personalidad más importante de los esports, por encima de Bjergsen o Shroud. Un Bjergsen que también estaría nominado a jugador de PC del año junto con su compañero Faker, Neeb de Starcraft o Dev1ce en Counter Strike, pero finalmente el ganador fue Liquid Miracle.
